Linkin Park

This Month In Music Videos: 9/18/2012-10/2012

After a month-long hiatus at GoodMusicRadar.com we’re back and here is one of two massive updates on what’s been going on in music while we’ve been gone. A crazy number of album reviews will be soon to come in fast succession of each other before going back to the normal regular day-to-day daily updates which you are used to seeing from the site. See all the videos from the past month and half by clicking the more button found after the top two videos from that time span.

Meek Mill’s debut album Dreams and Nightmares has dropped and here is the music video for a standout track Burn which features Big Sean and comes from Meek’s DreamChasers 2 mixtape. The video features fire, explosions, nice cars, video models and some random creatures.

A personal video from Usher for his upbeat song Numb which shows footage of him failing to perform at a concert venue from earlier this year as well as film of his recently deceased son.

Linkin Park: Living Things Album Review

To purchase the fifth album from rock band Linkin Park, click on the image above.

Living Things is the fifth studio album from rock group Linkin Park, which includes 12 tracks with a total run time of just under 37 minutes. The album is not bad by any means, but is just a solid release and a minor effort in the impressive discography of the band.

Linkin Park have changed, but their roots are apparent on this album than on what they have released recently. The album is not metal in any way, with an electronic sound replacing the metal music which the group previously made. It’s a big improvement from the “too experimental” album A Thousand Suns and even though none of the songs really compare to the classic tracks found on the groups first three albums, however they are still good songs. Living Things standout tracks are electronic influenced like Burn It Down, Lies Greed Misery and Skin To Bone. The album has slower tracks which are pulled off very well such as Roads Untravelled, Powerless and Castle Of Glass. Multiple songs also combine those two sounds well like Lost In The Echo, In My Remains and I’ll Be Gone. While the album does have many good tracks, many tracks were dissapointing as well such as Victimized, Until It Breaks and Tinfoil on an album which runs very short at only 37 minutes. Living Things ranks as the fourth best out of five albums from Linkin Park for me, but is still a solid album from the group.

Living Things is a solid release from the rap group Linkin Park, but is a much weaker album from the group when compared to their past releases. The album runs short and has some dissapointing tracks, but sees the band somewhat returning to their earlier sound and has many good tracks. Living Things is a solid album which gets 3 stars.

Top 5 Tracks: Burn It Down, Lies Greed Misery, I’ll Be Gone, Roads Untraveled, Skin To Bone

This song from Nas could be the best rap song from this year and has a great video to match. The song is an ode to parents who have daughters and the video is a POV from the eyes of Nas’s 17 year old daughter from when she was born till current day and her relationship with her father. The video is original, and the song comes from Nas’s upcoming album, Life Is Good which drops on July 17th.

The Watch is a sci-fi comedy movie about a group of dads who find themselves fighting an alien invasion. The movie will be released on July 27th and features an all star cast of Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn and Jonah Hill and is written by Seth Rogen.

Linkin Park: Lies Greed Misery

Lies Greed Misery is the second single from the upcoming album, Living Things from Linkin Park. I loved the first single, Burn It Down, but this song just didn’t do it for me. The chorus has a screaming hook which I just hate. Hopefully the upcoming album has more songs like Burn It Down on it and not screaming rock music.

Listen to the song below and download it by clicking on the mp3.
