Album and Mixtape Review Catchup: 9/2012-10/2012

Since I have not updated the site the last few months all that much in order to catch up to current music I will review all the albums and mixtapes of importance in my opinion from September through October in order of release date. Below will be the ratings for the albums, a brief writing on each album and the top five tracks from the album along with a link to download individual tracks from each album. The top tracks from each album are listed in order of how I ranked the best songs from the project.

Matchbox Twenty: North

A strong three out of 5 stars for the first album in ten years from the Pop rock group Matchbox Twenty. The album has more of a pop sound from Rob Thomas than you may be used to from their past albums, but on songs like She’s So Mean and Parade they pull it off perfectly.

Two Door Cinema Club: Beacon

A strong four stars out of five for the second album from this Irish indie rock trio. The album was released on August 31st and is an extremely consistent release from the band. Catchy harmonies, smooth melodies and harmonies set to kinetic beats are plentiful on Beacon which is a great release from this indie rock band.

Pet Shop Boys: Elysium

The 11th studio album from English popsynth group the Pet Shop Boys gets three stars out of five on this light-hearted pop album. The album was released on September 5th and is yet another solid album from the duo.

This Month In Music Videos: 9/18/2012-10/2012

After a month-long hiatus at GoodMusicRadar.com we’re back and here is one of two massive updates on what’s been going on in music while we’ve been gone. Meek Mill’s debut album Dreams and Nightmares has dropped and here is the music video for a standout track Burn which features Big Sean and comes from Meek’s DreamChasers 2 mixtape. The video features fire, explosions, nice cars, video models and some random creatures.

A personal video from Usher for his upbeat song Numb which shows footage of him failing to perform at a concert venue from earlier this year as well as film of his recently deceased son.

This Week In Music Videos: 9/3/2012

Here is the Labor Day edition of this week in music videos which will have all the best videos from the first week of September. See all the videos by clicking the more button found after the top two videos of the week.

For the video for Bye Baby which is an outstanding track from Life Is Good, Nas goes through the now empty home he used to share with his ex-wife finding boxes of slides filled with memories of the relationship. After revisiting the memories from his relationship Nas finds his friends and affirms that Life Is Good in the video for this standout track.

The video for Mercy from Dave Matthews Band shows hundreds of images which were submitted by fans for the song.

This Week In Music: 8/26/2012

The weekly recap for this week in music is a day late for the final week of August due to me starting college this past week, which has also delayed me from putting up album reviews for new albums from Circa Survive, Trey Songz and Slaughterhouse as well as reviewing a few mixtapes. This week I should be able to get up at least a few of those reviews as I get into a routine though so be on the lookout for reviews of those three albums on the site in the next day or two. This week was a busy week in music which saw a single from Jay-Z protegé Rita Ora which wasn’t even worth posting and new singles from Band Of Horses, All Time Low, Game, Muse, Leona Lewis and Faith Evans just to name a few.
