Blown Away is the fourth studio album from country pop singer Carrie Underwood. With her fourth album the progress which she has made as an artist and songwriter since her early albums and American Idol days is evident more than ever.  The album opens with three extremely pop country songs one of which is the opening track Good Girl which is already a top ten single for the five time Grammy award winner. While the first three songs carry a somewhat darker tone, the songs become more lighthearted as the album goes on.

Blown Away showcases Carrie’s dynamic range and songwriting abilities as well as her ability to create an album which is a good mixture of both pop and country. As usual for Underwood most of the pop songs found on the album carry a darker tone while her country songs carry a lighthearted tone. Songs One Way Ticket, Blown Away and Good Girl are the strongest songs on the album and showcase Carrie’s vocal ability.

The album starts off extremely strong, but drops down slightly in quality for the second half of the album with the exception being Leave Love Alone. While I enjoy the pop influenced songs from this album most, even though I am not a big country music fan I still enjoyed the country songs found on the album. If you are a Carrie Underwood fan or even somewhat like country music then this album is a must listen which you should enjoy. With her powerful voice Carrie creates a successful heavily pop influenced country album which gets 4 stars. Check out some of the album below and leave your thoughts on the album.

Key Tracks: Good Girl, Blown Away, Two Black Cadillacs, One Way Ticket, See You Again and Leave Love Alone
